Kalush is a town in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, on the river Limnytsia, 35 km from Ivano-Frankivsk. The vibrant town of Kalush is relatively well preserved. The Jewish cemetery is situated behind high apartment houses.

For photographs of Kalush and its Jewish cemetery  made by Dr. Vladimir Levin in August 2009,  see the Gallery section.
