Academic events of the JGB at the 17th World Congress of Jewish Studies

At the 17th World Congress of Jewish Studies that took place in Jerusalem in August this year our organization’s activities were presented in two special sessions:

A session called “The Legacy of Galician Jewry: Research and Resources” was held by the Research Project on Galician and Bukovinian Jewry which was established by the JGB Organization in Haifa University.

In the second session fellows of the “Ad-Hena” center established by the JGB Organization at Herzog college spoke about new research perspectives on Galicia and it’s Jews.

In addition, Refael Kroizer - a fellow of a research project “From Kraków to Lemberg" at the Tel-Aviv University (this center is also a product of JGB initiative) - delivered a lecture at the Congress on "The Genre of Name Lists for Divorce Records: Its Creation and Meaning".
