English translation:

This is the third year that my husband, Meir son of Aharon, left me, and children with me, poor and abandoned aguna; and I did not know where he is, until I have learned in this March that he has been in Rumnik Sarat [Rîmnicu Sărat] and wants to marry; and I was sitting in my native town, in Brodtshin which in Galicia. Therefore hurried the rabbi of Brotshin to write ot the rabbi of Rumnik Sarat in Romania to prevent my husband from marrying, since he has a wife, and he did it. And after the Passover I myself went to Rumnik Sarat, but unfortunately I was late, because he went from here before the Passover, when he saw and understood that his hope to wed another woman failed. His description: the name Meir Binderglied, native of the town Obertin in the area of Horodenka in Galicia, his age is about 33, he is hunched a little, his face is black, his hair is black, his teeth are black, the finger(s?) on his right hand are cut, so that only one phalanx remained. His livelihood was to teach children to write in Hebrew and German. Now, I am begging everybody who finds him to make efforts to take from him a get for me, and to inform me at the address of the rabbi here, and I will bless him forever.

Brakha, daughter of R. Yaakov Kosher, from Brodshin in Galicia
Currently here, Rumnik Sarat in Romania

Truth and just are the words of the aguna; when I have received in the last winter a letter from the rabbi from Brodshin, and when I have spoken with the person, he confessed to me, but fled from here. Therefore, the great mitzvah is to attempt to remove this yoke from her heck, and to receive from him a get for an envoy.

Avner Katvan, the head of the rabbinical court of the community Rumnik Sarat and vicinity.
