Description:

Kosow hassidic synagogue (kloyz) (view from Shuchevich str.)

The "Kosov Shiel" modernist-style synagogue was built at the beginning of the 20th century, adjoining a complex of residential buildings belonging to the Rebbe of Kosov. Since its refurbishment during the Soviet era, the entire complex
is used for residential purposes. Two of the prayer hall’s walls are adorned with a flat frame with a strip of arches on top. This decoration also embellishes the gable at the top of the protrusion for the Holy Ark on the eastern wall.
